OSU Isshin Ryu Karate Homepage

Welcome to the Isshin Ryu Karate Club at The Ohio State University Homepage. Here you'll find information about our club, practice times, practice locations, contact information, and our members.

We practice in the Recreational and Physical Activity Center, room B138 West. Our Fall Quarter hours are:

Tuesday and Thursday, 8:00p.m. to 10:00p.m.

We welcome beginners and martial artists of all levels to a fun, friendly practice atmosphere. Loose-fitting clothing is strongly suggested, as are mouthguards and cups. Accidents happen.

Classes focus on basic upper and lower body techniques, and self-defense techniques, including throws and learning how to take falls without injury.  Students will receive personal attention from Sensei Campbell and several of his advanced students, each with 10 or more years of experience in Isshin Ryu.

Club fees are $40 per quarter, but the first two practices are FREE.

Our instructors are Sensei Craig Campbell (7th dan Isshin Ryu Karate), and two of his senior black belts, Sensei Doug Cottrill and Sensei Patrick Dawson. Sensei Campbell has been studying Isshin Ryu since 1972 and teaching classes since 1977.
